Who I Am
My name is Aaron Stephens and I solve business problems with software.
My specialty is fixing existing solutions which no longer meet business needs or must be replaced or updated for technical reasons. I also enjoy taking on new projects or helping existing software teams struggling to meet the needs of the business they serve.
I have been working with computers professionally since 1995 and still love what I do. I started running tape backups and progressed through systems administration and design, software development, and on to full software solutions architecture. I have held duties ranging from front-line support to managing projects. This wide range of experience has given me insight into every level of IT in an organization and I put that experience to work designing robust solutions which serve business rather than encumber it. My continuous desire to conform software to the needs of business means I think of myself as a software architect and developer instead of merely a programmer.
I keep flexible when it comes to the technologies I use to solve problems as I feel those choices come secondary to other factors. I have acquired extensive experience in C# with .NET and .NET Core, TypeScript and JavaScript in both the browser and NodeJS, AngularJS and Angular, and PHP with Symfony and Zend frameworks. I have even integrated C and C++ embedded systems with modern web applications. I design electronics devices and IoT projects in my spare time just to keep things interesting.
